Ivey did well last year with her lessons, but doesn't love to read. She has not wanted to read all summer long, and I don't push. At all. She says she would rather just look at the pictures.... and even though I wanted to say something otherwise, I just kept my mouth shut. Why? Because be making her do it will not make her like it... quite the opposite. Today, I unveiled the girls' new book incentive chart. It's just a chart that I printed. They read books for a prize. Tonight, Ivey grabbed a Horrible Harry and the Dragon War (G.L.E. 3.2!!), and read the first chapter to me.
This momma is treating herself to a bag of dark chocolate and a glass of wine.
