We pulled up to the bank parking lot and a killdeer was REALLY upset that we parked too close to her nest! They are ground-nesters, and they really pitch a fit when you get too close. The kids even got to see her do her trick.... They walk away from the nest and act as if they have a broken wing, so that predators will follow them away from their eggs. The things mommies will do for their little ones!
