Sick Days

Wow.  What a week.

Last weekend, it rained buckets, trapping us inside only to go out and stand in poo-water up past our ankles when tending to the animals.  No fun.

Then, on Sunday night, Asa came down with a stomach bug.  He was up at 3am, heaving.  That was when the fun began.

On Monday, we hunkered down.  Asa had a high fever, and intestinal issues.  Then, Ivey developed a fever.  Luckily, she only had the fever... and nothing else.

I knew we weren't going to be able to have classes the next day... and if it spread to others, which it probably would, I would be a time bomb of germs on Thursday, as well.  With only 3 in-class days left, I hated to shift things, but I moved classes to Friday and Monday.

Fast forward 2 days.

Addison came down with a 102.3 fever on Tuesday.  Asa is STILL sick.  He has a fever, headache, and has to camp out in the bathroom.  He is skinnier than ever, and pitiful.

Besides one day with a big nap (unusual for her), Olive has been happy as ever.  Actually, Ivey has been bouncy and all smiles, as well.  It's just hit Asa so hard.  And, I have no clue how long it will last... and when "normalcy" will resume.

I am betting that I will have to cancel classes on Friday.  With standardized tests next week (which homeschoolers actually have to pay for, and it's not cheap), we can't risk infecting others... and I am teaching too many of the classes to have it go on without us.  Sigh.  The best laid plans...

In between the insane amount of laundry we are accumulating, doing the boys' chores, getting them through schoolwork (when they are up for it), milking the goats, bottle feeding the kids, countless hours of zombie children staring at movies, shows, and electronic devices, the girls and I have had some pretty fun moments.
